Electoral support for left wing populist parties in Europe: addressing the globalization cleavage

Electoral support for left wing populist parties in Europe: addressing the globalization cleavage: (European Politics and Society, 2018). Written with José Rama.

Our analysis is comparative, and extends to nine countries in the 2014 EU elections. We find that voters who hold critical attitudes towards the EU and who perceive immigration as a threat to their ‘way of life’ are more prone to support left wing populist parties than non-populist left parties.
